The Australian Alpaca Association National Show was held in Bendigo on 6-9th August 2026.
It was a great show with a fabulous vibe. So enjoyable to catch up with our friends from around the country. So many beautiful alpacas being bred and the stalls showcasing the fleece side of things was a great attraction for all. Thanks also to the stall holders: – paintings, alpaca products, industry support, fleece etc.
Bec and Darren Hard did a fabulous job convening the show and offered something for all members, thank you to both of you. The Elite Auction was fun and a great success. Food at the soiree was amazing, really yummy. Thanks to all the volunteers with special thanks to Dee, Sarah, Anne, Shane, Jillian, Natasha, Mary Jo and all the sponsors.
This year we entered a small team of two Intermediate Alpacas. Auravale Goldleaf Wynter continued her very successful show career winning a first place in her Intermediate Light Fawn Female Class, being moved from the white class. Auravale Winston did not receive a ribbon but we were proud to show him in the Intermediate White Male Class. Danzon and Winsome went along as the support team for the two show alpacas. All alpacas wee perfectly behaved, a joy to handle.
