We had a busy few days at the Melbourne Royal Alpaca Competition, being on the organising committee always means there is plenty to do!
The Alpaca Committee of the Melbourne Royal does work very hard to ensure the show is enjoyable for exhibitors and spectators alike. I would like to acknowledge the hard work and passion the team has shown, led by Rochelle Veitch as Chair, Trevor Parry, Louise Charman, Emmaly Gridley, Jonathon Provis-Vincent, Maddy Bissels and myself.
I would also like to acknowledge Robin Nasemann our International Judge. Robin was a pleasure to work with and his knowledge of alpacas and communication skills in explaining his reasoning were excellent. I am sure he will be invited back to judge in Australia in the future.
Our volunteers were magnificent as usual, with both Dee Finlay as MC and Ann Parry as Chief Steward stepping in at the last minute when we had a couple of illnesses in the team. Others included Kylie, Colin, Carolyn, Sean, Emma, Sarah, Jodi, Ryan, Tess, Marie, Allee, Nic and Kerry. There were others who chipped in to help at various times thank-you to all.
